Palivcová, Lenka ; Zahálka, František (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: Postural stability of near-sighted people Objectives: To analyse relationships between selected parameters of postural stability and impaired visual acuity (myopia), which is revised by optimal visual correction, by diffusing glasses or by contact lenses. Methods: Investigations of stabilizing capabilities of erected posture in its various modifications. An objective measuring was performed by stabilometric platform type Footscan. The experiment involved twelve people with myopia of -3 to -6D visual acuity of an average age of 23 ± 4 years. Myopat group of bipedal standing position were tested with open eyes with vision correction, afterwards with eyes closed, then without any vision correction. The last measured positions were performed on one lower limb with visual correction and then without it. Total number of measured positions were ten upright positions, each of which was measured with 30 second interval. Results: A total travelled way of centre of pressure was determined as a parameter of postural stability evaluating. Positions on one lower limb clearly put the highest demands for stabilizing upright positions. The only aggravation of conditions stabilizing this position should be to eliminate vision correction, which was confirmed in 8 probands from a total of 12. Under a bipedal...
Case Study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the osteosynthesis of medial malleolus and fibula
Kadlecová, Jana ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Mahr, Edwin (referee)
The ankle is a complicated structure in the human body. It is a joint that is subjected to sustained loads; muscles and ligaments provide stability. Ankle injuries are amongst the most common of injuries, but their diagnosis is sometimes difficult. With improper treatment, chronic arthritis can occur. In order to restore proper joint function, rehabilitation is necessary. The aim of this work was to identify and become familiar with physiothrapeutic procedures and practices when a fracture of the ankle has occurred. This objective has been met by using selected methods to rehabilitate the patient. The case report shows the progress of the rehabilitation, from a baseline, setting goals and choosing the appropriate form of therapy, and these determine the effects of all therapies that have been processed in the CLPA in the period from 25. 10. 2010 to 23. 11. 2010.

Title: The importance of myofeedback rehabilitation in faecal incontinence Introduction: Faecal incontinence is a serious symptom significantly worsening quality of life. Following results of international studies myofeedback has been considered an effective option of conservative treatment of this disease. Despite that it has so far been used at just a few centres in the Czech Republic. Purpose: The main purpose of this thesis was to assess the relevance of myofeedback as part of recovery therapy. Other objectives included assessment of use of a vaginal electrode instead of an anal one and comparison of the result correlations between examination by anal manometry, surface EMG and subjective improvement of continence for the patients. Methods: The research project included 8 females. The objective method of assessment of effects of the treatment involved examination of pelvis bottom muscles with the help of anorectal manometry and surface EMG. Success of the therapy was evaluated through the St Marks incontinence score and by the test population themselves filling out a quality of life questionnaire. Results: In the course of three-month recovery most patients experienced improvement of subjective as well as objective parameters. The results of the study are comparable to results of international...

Evaluation of the sensitivity of fingers at a group of physiotherapists Objectives: The main objective of this study is to evaluate the sensitivity of the hand, specifically stereognosis and two-point discrimination, with groups of ten physiotherapists and ten participants in the control group of normal population and to identify which of these groups will have a better sensitivity of the hand and fingers. Another objective is to compare the results with the age of all participants and with length practice of physiotherapists. Methods: I used a few simple tests for two-point discrimination (two-point discrimination test) and stereognosis (shapes of objects and their material) to evaluation of sensitivity of fingers for research subjects. The results of a professional group I statistically compared with the results of control group, which was selected from the general population. Results: The results of the first type of sensation, stereognosis, were by a group of physiotherapists in comparison with the control group significantly improved. Individual times of physiotherapists were from the first order of best to the last of the worst always smaller than in the same order in the general population. In results of the second type of sensitivity, two-point discrimination, wasn't a group of...
