Sports Documentary in Czech TV

From the begining of television broadcasting in the Czechoslovakia the sports documentary belonged to the group of TV genres, which are regularly situated on the television. Most of the czech and czechoslovak sports documentaries also got an important award at home and abroad. This thesis is looking for what place a sports documentary has in the Czech Television broadcasting at the beginning of the 21st century, an era that increasingly belongs to the Internet and shared content rather than television. The thesis also seeks to answer the question of what types of sports documentaries are currently being filmed, and whether a sports documentary is the privilege of a public television or private television or even internet stations and platforms. The thesis also includes a list of sports documentaries that were broadcasted by the Czech Television between 2000 and 2018.
Luděk Brábník and Tomáš Jungwirth - preparation of top athlete/coach for sports TV journalism

In this bachelor thesis we are witnesses of lives, sport careers and television work of the two subjects - doctor Luděk Brábník and master Tomáš Jungwirth. As personas, who innovated then television sport journalism by their attitude to preparation, expert knowledge of sports they focused on and characters, which led them get to the superior information, they shall own a particular position among pioneers of quality sport television journalism in Czechoslovakia. In this document, they are mentioned important stages of their lives (professional sport careers, studies, experiences), which subsequently shaped their expertness and suitability to work as television sport commentators. Writing describes their gradual in the context of specialism on the television sport journalism. Present in this work is also their set up to this job. As the method of collection of information, I chose interviews with people who knew them well (daughter, wife and colleagues), diploma thesis which focused on these two men and period press - Stadion and Lehká atletika. I managed to find out the main subject of their preparation which was: expert knowledge in sport, university education, discipline and personal contact with the athletes, coaches and functionaries.
Archiving of news and sport footage in the Czech TV

This thesis describes the process of archiving of shots and programmes in news and sport editorial offices of the Czech Television. Newsroom prepares broadcasts for ČT1 and ČT24 programmes. The sport editorial office provides the broadcasts for ČT SPORT and also prepares the news for "Branky, body, vteřiny" on ČT1. With regard to this, both offices produce a considerable amount of audio-visual material. The thesis examines how this material is subsequently archived. Do both offices have a systematic and comprehensive procedure for archiving of shots and programmes? And are these archives easily traceable, available and usable for further broadcasting? The thesis summarizes the history of archiving of news and sport audio-visual material. The key process of digitization, which allows the transcription and saving of old archive materials stored on tape media, is also mentioned. After describing the history of archiving, the author focuses on the current methodology of the process and describes the system of archiving in news and sports news. Who does archiving and what systems and programmes are used for it? At the end of this thesis the future of archiving is analysed with regard to the progress in technologies used for archiving.

Sports Interview and Its Specifics - with Focus on Czech Audio-Visual Media Practice

The interview is one of the journalist's basic methods and that statement also applies to the field of sport journalism. Through talking with athletes, the journalist gets information he afterwards shares with readers, listeners or viewers. When author decides to publish acquired material in the original dialogical form, it becomes of the interview genre. How would an ideal sport interview look like in this respect? What skills should a good sports journalist have? And how to ask the athlete not to answer "obviously"? The explanation on this topic has not existed in the Czech aca- demic sphere yet. For the first time, the diploma thesis Sport interview and Its Spe- cifics has tried to find the supported answers to the previous questions. In four explanatory chapters, the reader is introduced to the issue of media dia- logues with persons from the sports environment. The emphasis is laid on Czech audiovisual media area where the sport interview takes many forms. Besides a lit- erature research and the author's sports journalist practice, the thesis is based on interviews with leading Czech sports journalists. Summary of The Czech / Czechoslovak Television's Sports Documentary

This bachelor thesis is focusing on the sports documentary films which were broadcast in the Czech and Czechoslovak Television from 1953 to 2013. The theoretical part describes the historical origins of the document, the differences between documentary and fiction, the basic characteristics of the different genres of documentary and details about sports documentary film. The author also describes the problems with definitions and the ambiguous differences between documentary film and television documentary. Sports documentary in the broadcasting of the Czechoslovak and Czech Television capture chapters in the practical part. In them, the author describes a detailed overview of sports television documentaries in particular periods of Czechoslovak and Czech Television. The author also analyzes, compares, reviews and sets into a broader context selected sports documentaries. The partial goal of thesis is also the first version of the list of sports documentaries, which Czechoslovak and Czech Television broadcasted from 1953 to 2013, including the names of the main film- makers. Purpose and method of storing historical items and shots inside The Czech television

Czech Television, the public service broadcaster, guarantees archiving of shots and programmes in the Czech Republic. This thesis explains the process of this archiving, whether there is a clear strategy and whether this strategy is effective. The purpose of archiving - the possibilities of using stored programmes, was also examined. Technologies are developing very rapidly. This development brings new methods of video recording. The thesis also deals with various kinds of archiving in the past and whether the old archives were already converted to new technologies to prevent their loss or damage. Czech Television is a large institution. It broadcasts on five channels and provides also internet broadcasting, news and sport web portals. The archiving of shots and programmes must be realized in many places at the same time. The thesis represents their summary and describes the conditions of archiving in the present.
Behaviour of the football fans-media image and its counterparts

This work deals with the development of football fans under the influence of the media. Approaching, what factors affect the behavior of fans at the stadium and beyond and what are the consequences of their actions. Thesis is based on the methods of investigation of processes and interactions. Basic sources of information in addition to the observation of the author and literature are interviews with personalities from the football society. These include sports journalists, club officials and fans themselves. The work is divided into two parts. The first provides a theoretical basis, which describes the development of football fans after the Velvet Revolution, the non-media effects on behavior and the possible consequences of their interactions. The second part is based primarily on interviews and tries to answer the research question if the media play a crucial role in the development and behavior of football fans. In the final analysis, the author will, based on his knowledge, apart from its answer, offer opportunities for further development, as well as a theory, which factors may contribute to the future behavior of fans. "The Comparison of the European Football Championship broadcastings on Czech television and Prima TV" bachelor thesis entertains the qualitative and quantitative differences in European Football Championship broadcast on Czech Television and The Comparison of the European Football Championship broadcastings on Czech television and Prima TV. Up until the year 2004, including, European Football Championship has always been broadcast by Czechoslovak or Czech television. For Euro 2008, however the broadcasting rights were acquired by The Comparison of the European Football Championship broadcastings on Czech television and Prima TV. The thesis is aimed at differences in the approach to broadcasting between The Comparison of the European Football Championship broadcastings on Czech television and Prima TV and its predecessor. For example it discusses the contrast between public and privately owned television services in Czech republic or the historical tradition of the sports news in both televisions. Analysis of experts working in the studio in Czech Television during the hockey World Cup 2010 in Germany

Bachelor thesis deals with the work of experts in studio, which participated in the broadcasting of the 2010 IIHF World Championship in Germany. In this position alternated Josef Zajíc with Milan Antoš and author tries to analyze their access to the profession "expert in studio" during the matches of Czech hockey team. This thesis presents in short the history of Česká televize, that had broadcasted this event, and the history of ice hockey world championships. These issues are followed by characteristic of the profession expert in studio, namely history, definition and challenges during the broadcasting. Author deals with content, form and visual behavior in speeches of Josef Zajíc and Milan Antoš. One part includes also interviews with them. In the end author analyses mistakes of both experts on the basis of conversations with Czech language specialist. He also wonders if Czech viewers are able to pardon them these mistakes.
