Supervisor's e-mail address: avalkar@mail.desy.de Abstract: An inclusive dijet production in diffractive deep-inelastic scattering is measured. The diffractive selection is based on tagging of the leading proton in the Forward Proton Spectrometer. The statistics of events obtained during the HERA II running period (integrated luminosity of 156.7 pb−1 ) enables the measurement of jet final states with leading proton for the first time. The data cover the phase space of xIP < 0.1, |t| <= 1.0 GeV2 and 4 <= Q2 <= 110 GeV2 . The dijet data are compared with the next to leading order predictions of the quantum chromodynamics (QCD). The phase space of diffractive dijets is in this analysis by factor of 3 in xIP larger than in previous measurements. The QCD predictions based on the DGLAP parton evolution describe the measured data well even in a non-DGLAP enriched phase space where one on the jets goes into the region close to the direction of the outgoing proton. Measurement of the Longitudinal Proton Structure Function in Diffraction at the H1 Experiment and Prospects for Diffraction at LHC

of the Thesis by David Šálek I present the first measurement of the longitudinal diffractive structure function FD L using the H1 detector at HERA. The structure function is extracted from first measurements of the diffractive cross section ep → eXY at centre of mass energies √ s of 225 and 252 GeV at high values of inelasticity y, together with a new measurement at √ s of 319 GeV, using data taken in 2006 and 2007. Previous H1 data at √ s of 301 GeV complete the kinematic coverage needed to extract FD L in the range of photon virtualities 2.5 < Q2 < 100 GeV2 and fractional proton longitudinal momentum loss 10−4 < xIP < 10−2 . I present the first measurement of the longitudinal diffractive structure function FD L using the H1 detector at HERA. The structure function is extracted from the diffractive cross section measurements at three different centre-of-mass energies. I describe in detail all corrections factors and tuning of the simulation needed for the mesaurement. These involve the efficiency of reconstructing primary interaction vertex, track linking the vertex and the cluster of the scattered positron, efficiencies of various cuts in the DIS and diffractive selections. The chapter of forward and diraction physics is an indispensable and always a rich part of the physics menu of any experiment at high-energy accelerators. In last years, a big eort was put to study and estimate the feasibility or a discovery potential of Higgs boson produced in the central exclusive diraction events at LHC. These processes have a chance to become competitive or complementary to the program of the Higgs boson search in standard (non-diraction) processes, in particular in the supersymmetric extension of the Standard model. In this thesis an analysis of the central exclusive production of Higgs boson decaying to two tau leptons is performed, along with investigations of corresponding background processes.
