Effective User Interface for Editing Parametric Curves
Ondruch, Milan ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
At present, the standard method of accessing a curve is using a polygon composed of control points. When dealing with complex curves, the result becomes lost in a clutter of lines comprising this polygon. This bachelor thesis proposes an algorithm for curve editing without the use of control points. The output is a tool that modifies the curve in an intuitive way reminiscent of work with plastic material. A sample program is implemented in C++ language with a graphic output by means of OpenGL library and OpenGLUT window toolkit.
Lossy Image Compression
Bařina, David ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Sumec, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with advanced methods of lossy image compression. To the midst of these methods belong the discrete cosine transform and Haar's discrete wavelet transform. Furthermore principles of color models and algorithms used in lossless data compression are explained in this text. The purpose of this thesis is the library implementation that is based on these cognizances.
Videocodec - Videosequence Compression
Vančura, Jan ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Sumec, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with design and implementation of application for video compression. Application is implemented with programming language C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 by using library Video for Windows and DirectShow. It is focused to decrease size of video data stream. It describes lossy and lossless data compression.
Real-Time Ray Tracing
Blecha, Vít ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
My thesis deal with method of rendering computer graphics called ray tracing. I will aim on possibility of rendering triangles using this method. Goal of my work is study of existing algorithms to test ray-triangle intersection, their comparison, their computing demandingness and speed on different pc architectures. I will also implement these algorithms to existing ray tracer working in real-time.
Searching for Points of Interest in Raster Image
Kaněčka, Petr ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This document deals with an image points of interest detection possibilities, especially corner detectors. Many applications which are interested in computer vision needs these points as their necessary step in the image processing. It describes the reasons why it is so useful to find these points and shows some basic methods to find them. There are compared features of these methods at the end.
Realistic Smoke Animation
Zubal, Miloš ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Sumec, Stanislav (advisor)
This work makes basic analysis of historical and current algorithms for smoke animation. Modern approaches to rendering volumetric data are briefly described. We choose algorithms for implementation on basis of this analysis. These algorithms are described in detail and we make emphasis on their important properties according to dedication of this work. Detailed description of implementation follows along with performance measurement. Conclusion evaluates results of work and proposes possible extensions.
Graphics Intro 64kB Using OpenGL
Drobisz, Tomáš ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Sumec, Stanislav (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis describes techniques that are used in graphic intro making, their advanteges and disadvantages in getting below size limit of executable file, history of demoscene, introduction to OpenGL. The issue is graphic intro implementation with single executable file with size below 64kB.
Digital Photo Processing
Zdražil, Vít ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Potúček, Igor (advisor)
This document focuses on processing of RAW image data from digital cameras. In first section is described principle of image capturing by digital camera, common way of image processing in the device and what the RAW format is, its pros and cons. In the next section is described existing demosaicing methods, methods for additional processing of RAW image data and there is analyzed specific RAW format, Canon's CR2, including structure and guide for its conversion. Next sections contains proposal of the new improved demosaicing method and method for suppressing digital noise. On this basis a library for basic CR2 files processing was implemented. There is comparison of methods for processing RAW image data with this library in the next section. In the conclusion there is summary of finished work and there is also mentioned outline of future work.
Home Multimedia Centre
Burkert, Michal ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Sumec, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation application, that should be equivalent to several eletronic devices such as DVD player or videotape recorder. Computer used for this purpose is often branded as Home Theater Personal Computer (HTPC). This thesis studies available multimedia libraries and software in operating system Linux, that is used to create designed application. It shows some similar existing application to create HTPC either commercial or opensource.
Automatic Generator of Diacritics
Veselý, Lukáš ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this diploma work is the suggestion and the implementation of the application, which allows adding / removing of diacritics into / from Czech written text. Retrieval "trie" structure is described along with its relation to finite state automata. Further, algorithm for minimization of finite state automata is described and various methods for adding diacritics are discussed. In practical part the implementation in Java programming language with usage of object-oriented approach is given. Achieved results are evaluated and analysed in the conclusion.
