MeV ion irradiation beamline at the Uppsala Tandem Accelerator: Improvements and applications
Calibration of SIMS method by implantation profiles
Janák, Marcel ; Průša, Stanislav (referee) ; Bábor, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is concerned with a quantitative analysis of the dopant (C, H, Mg, O) distribution in MOCVD-grown AlGaN HEMTs by TOF.SIMS 5 instrument with cesium and oxygen sputtering. The main reason for the development of RSF SIMS measurement quantification method is a hardly predictable phenomenon of preferential sputtering and matrix effect. Calibration samples, prepared by ion implantation technique into homogeneous and periodic III-nitride AlN, GaN structures, are reproduced by an ion-atom interaction program TRIM. A part of this work is likewise a quantification of AlGaN matrix.
Electron Beam Control and Diagnostics for Advanced Technologies
Zobač, Martin ; Kolařík, Vladimír (referee) ; Průša, Stanislav (referee) ; Lencová, Bohumila (advisor)
The thesis deals with problems of control and diagnostics of electron beam technological devices which use electron beam for localised intensive heating of a material. A brief description of the electron beam welder MEBW-60/2 is included; the author has participated on its development and implementation. Main topics are the analysis of deflection system properties and the measurement of current distribution of the beam (so-called beam profiles). Geometrical aberrations, hysteresis, stability and dynamics of a single-stage magnetic x-y deflection system are described. Suitable measurement procedures and correction methods are introduced. Methods of transverse and longitudinal beam profile acquisition is presented using successive sampling of the local current density of the beam by a modified Faraday cup. The data processing and evaluation of characteristic beam parameters are shown. The presented methods were verified by fourteen experiments using the electron beam welder. The methods have proven to be useful in practical evaluation of the device properties.
Interaction of the noble gas ions and gallium with surfaces and thin layers studied by Low Energy Ion Scattering LEIS
Chmelický, Martin ; Caha, Ondřej (referee) ; Průša, Stanislav (advisor)
In this thesis we study the interaction of helium, neon, argon and gallium ions with graphene. The graphene structure is contaminated with gallium ions during the graphene processing by focused gallium beam (FIB). The graphene properties are affected, e.g. reducing the electrical conductivity. The aim of this thesis is to verify the effect of selected ion beams on the graphene structure and select suitable ion beam for sputtering. Furthermore, the modification of standard heating stage used in LEIS instrument (Qtac 100) was designed and implemented. The LEIS instrument is connected to the complex UHV system for deposition and analysis of nanostructures – SPECS. This modification allows analysis of selected nanoparticles on suitable substrate at the elevated temperature.
Graphene on SiC as a substrate for molecular self-assembly systems
Černá, Lenka ; Průša, Stanislav (referee) ; Procházka, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the fabrication and characterization of metal-organic frameworks formed by self-assembly mechanism of metal atoms (Fe) and organic molecules (tetracyanoquinodimethane, TCNQ) on a graphene surface. The fabrication of self-assembled structures has been performed on epitaxial graphene on SiC(0001) substrate. The deposition of metal-organic networks, as well as subsequent surface characterization by low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM) scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), were performed under ultra-high vacuum conditions.
Low Energy Ions Scattering analysis of graphene layers prepared by CVD technology
Bábík, Pavel ; Kolíbal, Miroslav (referee) ; Průša, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of graphene samples by the Low Energy Ion Scattering (LEIS). The production of graphene layers is realized by the Chemical Vapor Deposition method (CVD) on the Institute of Physical Engineering. Analysis of the samples is taken place in the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) by Qtac 100. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to optimize of technology in order to reduce contaminants in the graphene layer.
Low Energy Ion Scattering on Gold Structures
Joch, Vítězslav ; Čech, Vladimír (referee) ; Průša, Stanislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with comparison of experimental and simulated low energy ion scattering spectra. There is a theoretical description of basic principles of low energy ion scattering and description of the spectrometer, which is situated at Institute of physical engineering. It is shown, how to prepare samples using the colloidal gold solution. The deposition of gold nanoparticles is characterized. The usage and meaning of time and energy spectra of low energy ion scattering is explained. There is also shown the effect of channeling in Si substrate.
Organic semiconductors on topological insulators
Hrubá, Daniela ; Průša, Stanislav (referee) ; Procházka, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the utilization of the topological insulator Bi2Se3 as a substrate for the deposition of different types of organic molecules. The substrate was prepared by exfoliation method under ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) conditions. The pentacene, 4,4'-biphenylcarboxylic acid (BDA), and tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) molecules were subsequently deposited using effusion cells. The quality and arrangement of the fabricated layers were characterized by low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM). The measured results and the behavior of the molecules on the crystal surface after their deposition are discussed. Diffraction patterns were used for design of real-space molecular arrangement model.
Preparation and analysis of fibre probes for holographic microendoscopy
Černá, Eliška ; Průša, Stanislav (referee) ; Jákl, Petr (advisor)
This theses deals with the preparation and analysis of fibre probes for a holographic microendoscope. The fibres are specifically sanded and a reflective layer of aluminium or silver is applied on them by thin film deposition. The properties of these deposited layers are further examined and evaluated using AFM, profilometer and measuring apparatus to assess the reflectivity. The protocol describing the production of fibre-optic probes with optimal parameters for holographic microendoscopy is created from measured data. Such fibre probes could be beneficial in the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease.
Connectivity / Democratic City_Radnice pro Staré Brno
Průša, Stanislav ; Průša, David (referee) ; Palaščak, Michal (advisor)
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to design new town hall on Mendel square in Brno. To transform a degrading unused final station of trams to public space full of life. In the building will be new town hall, turistic center and the upper floors will be used for housing. With the new town hall we would like to design new officis but also space for social weak people or people runing away from war or space for anyone who is looking for the company.
