Korupce v postkomunistických evropských zemích

Corruption is perceived as one of the most serious threats to the society and to the economy of the country as well. For these reasons, many social scientists have tried to discover and describe the root causes of corruption. This task is complicated by the fact that corruption is a clandestine activity, which makes it very difficult to measure and to detect its true effects, as well as its underlying causes. The aim of this dissertation is to analyse and explore possible causes for the level of corruption on the European level with a special focus on the differences between post-communist European countries and the rest of countries in Europe. First, this dissertation presents theories explaining corruption on a global level as well as definitions of corruption. Theories explaining the influences between corruption on a global level and various variables, namely GDP per capita, income inequality, generalized trust, values, and the share of Protestants in the population, are discussed and a special focus is made on the possible different effect in the case of post-communist European countries. Assessment of the Financial Situation in the Firm and Proposals to its Improvement

This thesis entitled "Financial Analysis" focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of financial analysis. The goal of the thesis is to assess the financial situation and health of a selected company in period 2008 - 2012 by using chosen elementary methods of financial analysis. The main contribution of my thesis is a description of the financial situation of the company for the last 5 years and formulating proposals for improvements in problem areas of financial management.

The Institutional Framework of Anti-Corruption Policy: International Comparison of Anti-Corruption Agencies and Situation in the Czech Republic

The subject of the thesis is the institutional framework of anti-corruption policy, in particular its anchorage in the form of specialized anti-corruption bodies, referred to as anti-corruption agencies. The aim is to address three main research questions: What specialized anti-corruption bodies exist in the world? How do specialized anti-corruption bodies operate in individual countries? What anti-corruption bodies do exist currently in the Czech Republic and what recommendations can be drawn from the foreign institutional arrangements? To answer them, the current state of research, recommendations and standards for the design and operation of specialized anti-corruption bodies is analysed first. The comparison of anti-corruption agencies in Lithuania, Latvia and Slovenia follows. On this basis, the current situation in the Czech Republic is assessed and recommendations are made. Partial aim of the thesis is to present international discussions and documents, the current state of reseach on this topic in the Czech language, as a comprehensive professional processing of this field is still missing.

Exchange rate risk and ways of its management

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the exchange rate risk, to suggest and demonstrate the possibilities of the risk management in the case study of AWT Group. The conclusions of the case study are generalized to be utilizable for other companies. Diploma thesis is divided into two main parts - theoretical part and case study. Concept of exchange rate risk and ways of its management are explained in the theoretical part. The theoretical knowledge is applied to praxis in case study of AWT.
