The winter wheat growing in terms of selected agricultural company
ŽÁČEK, Josef
This bachelor's thesis deals with the comparsion of three variations of growing winter wheat in practical conditions of a chosen agricultural business. A pilot plant experiment was established in 2015 on the property in cadarstral office Dolní Svince 0802/2 of the total area of 12 ha. For the experiment as such the area of 6 ha was used, which was then divided into three parts, each of the area of 2 ha. During the vegetation period, the presence of weeds was monitored and the yield elements of the individual phases of winter wheat evaluated. After the harvest, the real yield of the grain was evaluated and the final economical appraisal was performed. The average yield of the grain of the first variation (treated by herbicides, fertilized by nitrogen) reached the total of 5,54 t.ha-1 which was a 1,56 t.ha-1 more than the second variation (not treated by herbicides, fertilized by nitrogen). The yield of the second variation was 3,98 t.ha-1. The last established was the third variation (not treated by herbicides, not fertilized by nitrogen) and its yield of the harvested grain was around 2,73 t.ha-1.
Study of heavy particle production at D0
Benedikt, Tomáš ; Soustružník, Karel (advisor) ; Žáček, Josef (referee)
This work is about properties of top quark and methods of their measurements, which took place at D0 detector. At the beginning the history of the quark model is summarized followed by introduction to D0 detector at Tevatron collider in the USA. The rest of the work is dedicated to methods of measurements of important top quark properties. The most of attention is paid to measurements of production cross section and top quark's mass. The following topics are decay width, determination of the mass difference between top and antitop quarks and determination od top quark's electrical charge. In the end the newest values of top quark's properties are summarized.
Data analysis of the calorimeter CALICE
Bulánek, Boris ; Žáček, Josef (advisor) ; Zálešák, Jaroslav (referee)
In the present work we study the muon calibration of a hadrnic calorimeter. The calibration issue is divided into three parts. Description of the calibration principle and a comparison of the results with the previous results is described in the rst part. The method of the temperature and voltage corrections is presented in the second part. Also a comparison between the new and previous results is included. The last part is devoted to the study of myom track nding. The modied algorithm for searching muons was developed and compared with the default traknding algorithm.
The QCD analysis of multijet events in proton-antiproton collisions at the Tevatron
Kepka, Oldřich ; Kupčo, Alexander (advisor) ; Žáček, Josef (referee)
The recent developments in theoretical calculations (code NLOJET++) allow us to evaluate the 3-jet observables at the next-to-leading order precision. In this diploma thesis we investigate the potential of using 3-jet observables for the measurement of strong coupling s at hadron colliders. First, we analyze the inclusive jet cross section measured by DO Collaboration, determine s and demonstrate its running in a similar way as was previously done by CDF Collaboration. In the second part of the thesis, we analyze the DO measurement of dijet azimuthal decorrelations. With this choice of 3-jet observable we were able to achieve a better precision of s than in the previous s measurements based on the inclusive jet production.
