Vasopresin and its analogues in treatment of cardiac arrest
Truhlář, Anatolij ; Černý, Vladimír (advisor) ; Kasal, Eduard (referee) ; Ošťádal, Petr (referee)
Vasopressin and its analogues in treatment of cardiac arrest Introduction: Recent guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) recommend use of drugs as an integral part of treatment. Vasoactive drugs have been used in resuscitation to increase myocardial and cerebral perfusion during chest compressions. Resuscitation research is trying to find alternative vasopressors to adrenaline, for which the long-term survival benefit has not been proven. Successful use of terlipressin in cardiac arrest (CA) was documented in small studies in children and some rare case reports. Terlipressin has never been tested in CA of cardiac aetiology in any clinical or experimental study. Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the role of catecholamines and non-adrenergic vasopressors, vasopressin and terlipressin, during CPR based on review of selected trials. Introduction of a standardized experimental porcine model of ventricular fibrillation (VF) was done for research of therapeutic interventions during CPR. We aimed to evaluate the effects of terlipressin with adrenaline on perfusion of vital organs during prolonged CPR compared to placebo with adrenaline. We tested our hypothesis that terlipressin, if given simultaneously with the first dose of epinephrine during CPR for VF, increases CorPP (coronary perfusion pressure) or...
Photo Album and its Transformation in Cyberspace
Pešavová, Monika ; Fišerová, Michaela (advisor) ; Černý, Vladimír (referee)
Photo Album and its Transformation in Cyberspace Abstract My thesis deals with the difference in the perception of photo albums in the digital and analog era. Her goal is the reflection of change of a collection of a photographic material from an intimate information to a publicly accessible online self-presentation. This leads to the change in functionality of the photographical media which originally preserved the reality and now creates it. It's the excess of modification of modern photos which leads to the slow intentional return to the past back from the digital to the analog photography. Bc. Monika Pešavová
Manipulation in photography: techniques for manipulation and their identification
Liprtová, Anna ; Černý, Vladimír (advisor) ; Fišerová, Michaela (referee)
This thesis deals with the manipulation of a photograph. The first part is the theoretical framework, which is used in subsequent chapters by analyzing selected examples primarily reflecting concepts such as authenticity, objectivity, truth value or manipulation. Outside the theoretical framework is mentioned in the introductory parts of the historical evolution of analogue photography which flows into the history of digital photography. In the analytical part of the study we work with selected manipulative techniques (arrangements, retouching, photomontage, digital cloning, exchange heads, manipulation accompanying text or photos without referents) which are applied to individual examples using the theoretical framework from the first part. The study answers to our research questions, namely is it still possible to understand photography as an objective and trustworthy visual medium and is it possible to defend against the visual manipulation? The analysis shows that in the context of industrial practices in the photo and their availability has truth value of photographs as its objective quality not by its nature possible, while research and methods in detecting manipulation are crucial, but the amount of video material is still essential defense against manipulation of critical thinking. Key...

Radostová, Kristýna ; Řehořová, Irena (advisor) ; Černý, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis examines the discourse of political documentaries. It show how documentary films have developed and notes the changes of structural elements resulting from this development. The aim is to characterize the discourse of political documentaries, using the method of critical discourse analysis of contemporary documentaries focusing on the persona of George W. Bush, terrorist attacks and the war in Iraq.
Development of digital photography technology as a transformation of expressive possibilities of the medium of photography
Česálek, Tomáš ; Vančát, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Černý, Vladimír (referee)
The history of photography represents a constant technological development of the medium towards increasing sophistication, which is related to spreading possibilities of complex control upon semantic meaning of each camera image. The thesis comparatively analyses expressive possibilities of film and digital photography with emphasis on the relations of both medium with other audiovisual means of communication. The thesis compares technological possibilities of both medium and focuses on growing integration of digital methods of imaging with new media through computer graphics. The thesis focuses on transforming role of photography in the society which is connected with democratization of access to cameras and the possibility of sharing resulting images via internet and social media. Based on described data the author points out the changing role of the creator and the viewer in the process of interpretation of visual images.
Virtuality and Construction of New Visuality
Hunčovská, Hana ; Fišerová, Michaela (advisor) ; Černý, Vladimír (referee)
This dissertation focuses on the problematic of the use of specific virtual representational methods and their influence on the construction of the new visuality. The aim of this dissertation is to show how computer simulations and visualizations used in medical imaging change the way of our apprehension of the world. Nowadays, within academic circles we witness both optimistic and sceptic theories concerning the effects of integration of computer technology and human apprehension. In this work we would like to answer the question about the type of knowledge we gain through virtual visualizations and we would like to prove that virtual simulations don't necessarily have to be a threat but, on the contrary, by developing visual imagination they can support new, creative apprehension of reality. Key words Linear perspective, logic of database, narrative, rhizome, scopic regime, simulation, simulacrum, virtuality, vision, visuality, visualization
Methods of tissue perfusion and microcirculation assessment in experiment
Šitina, Michal ; Černý, Vladimír (advisor) ; Stříteský, Martin (referee) ; Kroužecký, Aleš (referee)
Methods of tissue perfusion and microcirculation assessment in experiment - set of experimental studies Michal Sitina Summary of doctoral thesis Doctoral study program Surgery Hradec Kralove 2013 Summary In the course of the doctoral study we have performed 4 experimental animal studies and one theoretical study using a mathematical model. Three of the studies were published in journals with an impact factor. All studies, using various research methods, deal with a microcirculation. We have assessed the method of the indicator dialysis as insatisfactory for an accurate measurement of the tissue perfusion. We have demonstrated no negative influence of a moderate hypothermia on the cerebral autoregulation of a pig. The mathematical model identified several factors, that can influence the THR test of the cerebral autoregulation. The influence of the inertia assessed the mathematical model as marginal. The methodical study of a visualisation of the surface brain microcirculation of rabbit using SDF imaging proved a high quality of visualisation. The measured parameters corresponded with the other literature values. An application of the SDF imaging of the brain surface mentioned above showed no changes of the brain microcirculation of rabbit at the early stage of the endotoxemia. The problem of authenticity of photograph: testimony evidence and historical consciousness
Černý, Vladimír ; Fišerová, Michaela (advisor) ; Borecký, Felix (referee)
The thesis points to the negative phenomenon of Holocaust denial, objective viewpoint of testimony, authenticity of photograph and background of historical consciousness in the context of postmodern situation. If we wanted to use objective testimony of photograph as a valid argument against Holocaust denial, we would have to declare the authenticity of photograph is invalid. The options of its manipulation, both content and meaning, are examined through semiotics of Peirce, mainly through trichotomy icon, index and symbol. In today's pluralistic time, the historical consciousness is proposed as a possible starting point of examination of historical sources, including photograph. Key words Photograph, authenticity, manipulation, Peirce, historical consciousness, Holocaust.
Evaluation of patient satisfaction with perioperative anesthetic care
