Kůrková, Petra ; Lindová, Jitka (advisor) ; Petrusková, Tereza (referee)
The aim of the study was to map the repertoire of vocalization of four wild-caught grey parrots (Psittacus erithacus), two males and two females. Data were collected during nine days from June to November 2008 by recording of vocalization in standardized conditions. Recorded sounds (3 052) were categorized according to their characteristics using both visual inspection of spectrograms and listening. We found 70 different call types, which were combined into 18 bigger groups. We found no subject to use the whole repertoire. Important differences were found both between individuals and between males and females. almost all call types were used throuthout the whole period of recording. Model spectrograms of all call types are shown. Key words: grey parrot, Psittacus erithacus, repertoire, vocalization

Habešová, K.Klapilová Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, U kříže 8, Prague 5, 150 00 Dominance as a stable personality trait of an individual is tested by a series of personality tests (eg, Cattell 16PF). But if we understand it as a variable describing the hierarchical superiority of an individual in a social interaction, we find that it may vary in different social roles. Monitoring the connection of dominance as a personality trait with dominance in relationships is an unexplored area due to the fact that there are not many standardized methods how to determine the dominance in a romantic relationship. The aim of our study was to 1) verify that the degree of dominance as the personal characteristics of an individual corresponds to his dominance in a romantic relationship and 2) find out the spheres of dominance in partnership based on qualitative analysis of interviews with both partners In the final session of longitudinal research of cohabitation (Klapilová et al. 2006 - 2009), 86 pairs completed a set of standardized questionnaires that was used to determine their personal dominance and dominant behaviour (IPIP- International Personality Item Pool; NEO-PI-R- subscale of assertiveness). Dominance/ submissiveness in a partnership were...

Street newspaper sale project is primarily intended as a social program. The sellers participating take in many self-restraints resulting from accepting the "Novy Prostor" rules. In the alternative ways of asking for financial support from the passerby people there is an obvious absence of a rules similar. Theoretical basis of research assume that there is a signal produced by a street newspaper sale, through which the sellers communicate their ability of money donated meaningful use to the passing by people and potential customers. In this context a meaningful use includes also the overnight expenses (housing for 1 night). The above mentioned selfrestraints represent the costs expended for this signal. One of the confirmation aspects to assess the suitability of the sale of NP through the lens of Signaling Game Theory is the existence of a counterfeiters (in a NP slang so called "poachers"). Empirical experiment has proved that the sellers giving clear signals actively, are waiting for a customer less then those who are not active (survival...
