Neugebauerová, Anna Marie ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Procházková, Barbora (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on understanding generational differences in work and family values in the Czech Republic between 1999 and 2017. The bachelor thesis will address how values evolve and transform over time - what causes this change, how generations differ in their perception of the world and the creation of their own identity. The thesis will also include the issue of gender differences, as well as differences in educational attainment, and the extent to which different age cohorts are affected by this. The method of the bachelor thesis is both quantitative and qualitative analysis of value orientations in the family and work spheres. The age cohort of 19-29 years, which in this thesis symbolizes the period of young adulthood, is the subject of the research. The primary source of the thesis is data from the European Value Study, from 1999, 2008 and 2017. These are analysed within the IBM SPSS Statistics software. An additional source of data in the bachelor's thesis consists of in-depth interviews, with two respondents from each (past) incoming generation, one male and one female, so we are talking about six respondents. Generational and gender differences in values in the different spheres were identified in the framework of the bachelor thesis. Furthermore, the specific values held by...
Value orientation and emerging generation strategies (X, Y, Z)
Chobotová, Tereza ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Svobodová, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the transformation of values, morals and strategies of the coming generations in the Czech Republic. The work focuses primarily on generations X and Y, marginally then, as an addition, on the simultaneously emerging generation Z. The aim of the work is to describe how generations differ from each other in their approach to values and morality, what strategies they choose and how they change within their lives. Within sociology, concepts of morality, values and strategy are key concepts that are used to study human behavior and society. They thus contribute both to a deeper understanding of the established paradigm in society and facilitate the process of optimization in various fields. They allow industries to respond to the changing demands and demands of the coming generations. Specifically included categories in this work are family relationships and work force. In the theoretical part, the issue is embedded in the scientific literature. This section is devoted to terminology, definition of individual generations, values, morality and strategies. In the practical part, the work builds on the European value research for the Czech Republic from 1991, 1999, 2008 and 2017. Working with data sets from these years is based on a descriptive analysis in the...
Social networks as a source of symbolic capital
Latislavová, Aneta ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Grygar, Jakub (referee)
This study focuses on identifying users' motivations for using social media platforms and the question of perceiving their activity as a source of symbolic capital. The paper also provides insights into individuals' behaviors on social networks and their perspectives on associated phenomena. The empirical part is conducted through mixed research methods, wherein phenomena are examined in detail through interviews followed by a questionnaire survey. The study identifies key factors for user motivation and activity and explores how users explain them. It analyzes the mutual social interaction among users and its importance for both online and offline communication. The study includes mapping the influence of influencers on their followers and the perceived positive and negative aspects of their activities. The research also investigates how respondents react to interruptions in online communication and the impact on their mental health.
Measuring the burden of caring for the elderly
Mezenský, Štěpán ; Remr, Jiří (advisor) ; Tuček, Milan (referee)
This thesis focuses on informal care and the burden of informal care. The aim is to explore the current form of informal care and to reflect on it with existing knowledge. In its first part, the thesis focuses on a description of the demographic development of the seniors, a description of informal care and the problems associated with it, solidarity, caregiving burden, and the possibilities of assistance and support for informal caregivers. Furthermore, the thesis sets out to describe what assistive technologies are, how informal carers use them and how they relieve them of the caring burden. Peripherally, the thesis also touches on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the caregiving burden. Through quantitative measurement using my own modification of the ZBI-4 questionnaire, I describe caregiving burden, taking into account basic sociodemographic data. The results show no statistically significant differences either across genders or across generations, apart from a significantly lower perceived caregiving burden for Generation X. I follow the quantitative part of the research with the qualitative part, based on semi-structured interviews. In the qualitative part, I describe the reasons for the decision for informal caregiving, its form and consequences, potential generational differences,...
