SW for access panel of data concentrator
Kováč, Jakub ; Franek, Lešek (referee) ; Šťastný, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this work is design the software for operating panel of data concentrator. The work shows serial communication between human-machine interface and data concentrator. There are designed the communications protocol and graphical interface for device. Consequently is shown design of algorithm of control application. The algorithm is designed in view of battery supply by using of Low-power modes.

Asymptotic Control of Portfolio for several assets
Kováč, Jakub ; Dostál, Petr (advisor) ; Justová, Iva (referee)
We consider an investor who invests in a stock and money market and whose goal is to maximize the market value of her portfolio in the very long run. The goal of the thesis is to find an optimal trading strategy for the investor. The stocks' market values are simulated by multidimensional Brownian motion. The possibility to buy and sell stocks introduces a new dimension to the dynamics of the problem. By using the Itoo calculus we derive the basic properties of the continous model. Considering the continous model difficulties with finding the optimal trading strategy, we aproximate the continous model by a dsicrete model. In the end, the thesis presents hints to use the Howard algorithm in the discrete case. The main contribution of the thesis is the introduction and proof of the Howard algorithm which can be used as a tool to find the optimal trading strategy in the discrete model.

Wireless data acquisition system
Kováč, Jakub ; Šťastný, Ladislav (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is design of system for wireless data collection from energy meters. The work shows issues of smart metering and explains meters communication. There is designed and described concept of the system composed of RF modules connected to data concentrator. Designed RF module uses SoC radio CC430F5137 and it is connected to a data concentrator via RS485 bus. For the purposes of communication as well as firmware update, the communication protocol is designed. In the next part the work focuses on design and creation of RF module frmware, bootloader for RF module and software application for energy meter data processing.

Effect of NAFTA agreement on drug trafficking between the U.S. and Mexico
Kováč, Jakub ; Gullová, Soňa (advisor) ; Klosová, Anna (referee)
Diploma thesis "Effect of NAFTA agreement on drug trafficking between the U.S. and Mexico" analyzes the phenomenon of illegal drug trade in the Americas. The aim of the thesis was to seek causes of drug trafficking based on the proven asymmetry of the U.S. - Mexico political and economic relations and analyze its development to the present. Particular emphasis was placed on NAFTA agreement and evaluation of its effect on drug trafficking. The last chapter provides possible solution proposals globally applicable.
