Práce pojednává o příčinách finanční krize ve čtyřech částech. V první přibližuje vývoj amerického trhu s nemovitostmi, kde došlo k cenové bublině, která později praskla. Další (a nejvýznamnější) část se zabývá americkým trhem s hypotékami a takzvaným originate-to-distribute modelem. V třetím oddílu je nastíněno, jak vůbec krize ve svých počátcích probíhala a šířila se na další finanční trhy a za hranice Spojených států. V poslední části je řeč o hlavních návrzích změn v regulaci a dohledu, které by mohly zabránit vzniku další krize na základě poučení z té současné. This thesis is about causes of the current financial crisis and it has four parts. 1st - description of evolution of the US housing market; 2nd - US mortgage market and the originate-to-distribute model; 3rd - evolution of the crisis and its spread into other markets and countries; 4th - proposals of main changes in the regulation and supervision in order to prevent similar crisis to happen
