The thesis is concerned with one of the building blocks of the classical theory of international trade, known as the Heckscher-Ohlin (H-O) model. It consists of two parts -- in the first one, the model is briefly introduced and related theorems - theoretical extensions of the model - are presented. This introduction is then followed by a discussion on the empirical performance of the model. In the second part, the factor price equalization theorem, closely related to the original H-O model, is both theoretically and empirically analysed. Práce se zabývá jedním ze základních stavebních kamenů klasické teorie mezinárodního obchodu - Heckscher-Ohlinovým modelem. Má dvě hlavní části - v části první je model spolu s navazujícími teorémy stručně představen, čemuž následuje diskurz o empirickém testování modelu v odborné literatuře. Část druhá je pak věnována teoretické a empirické analýze teorému vyrovnávání cen výrobních faktorů, který s Heckscher-Ohlinovým schématem úzce souvisí.
