Práce zkoumá specifické spotřebitelské chování, kdy zákazník při nákupu bere v úvahu podmínky, za jakých byl produkt vyroben. Práce analyzuje nejvýznamnější iniciativu, která na tomto poli působí, fairtrade a její alternativy. Výzkum si klade zejména následující otázky: Vede program ke zlepšení životních podmínek cílové skupiny? Pomáhá zlepšit pozici výrobců v distribuční síti? Je systém dostatečně transparentní? Zkoumanými alternativami jsou 4C Association, Direct Trade a Good African Coffee. Tyto alternativy alespoň v některých ohledech fungují lépe než fairtrade. Nedá se ovšem říci, že by kterákoliv z nich byla jednoznačně lepší. Fairtrade i alternativy fungují jako specializovaný segment trhu, jejich možnosti v boji s chudobou jsou proto omezené. Práce naznačuje možný směr dalšího badání v posuzování účinnosti fairtrade a jeho alternativ. This thesis examines specific consumer behaviour when a consumer takes an interest in conditions which the product was made in. This thesis analyses the most significant initiative in the field -- fairtrade -- and its alternatives. The research tries to answer the following questions: Does a programme better living conditions of the target group? Does it help to reinforce producers' situation in a distribution chain? Is the system transparent enough? The thesis examines following alternatives: 4C Association, Direct Trade and Good African Coffee. These alternatives work in some aspects better than fairtrade. Nevertheless it cannot be argued that either of them is better in all aspects. Fairtrade and its alternatives could be characterized as a speciality market and their possibilities to combat the poverty are therefore limited. The thesis suggests some questions for further research of fairtrade efficiency and it alternatives.
