Práce pojednává o íránské revoluci v letech 1979-1989. Je rozdělena do sedmi částí. V prvních dvou kapitolách popisuji příčiny revoluce a životopis ájatolláha Chomejního. Třetí část se zabývá vnitropolitickým vývojem a vznikem nové ústavy. Dále pojednávám o šíitském duchovenstvu, kde zmiňuji i stále platnou fatwu na Salmana Rushdieho. Pátá část je zaměřena na průběh osmileté irácko-íránské války. V šesté části poukazuji na hnutí Hizbulláh a šíitskou opozici v Iráku za vlády Saddáma Husajna. Poslední část práce je věnována zhodnocení a výsledkům íránské revoluce. The thesis, which focuses on the revolution in Iran from 1979 to 1989, is divided into seven chapters. The first two chapters describe in detail the causes of the revolution and biografy of Chomejni. The third part focuses on the new constitution and political climate in the country. The thesis also deals with shiites clergy; and the fatwa imposed on Salman Rushdie. The chapter five mainly describes the eight-year-long iran-iraq war. Part six describes the Hizbullah movement and Shiites opposition in Iraq during the reign of Saddam Husain. The last chapter of the work provides assessment of the revolution and its consequences.
