Diplomová práce stručně shrnuje historii pojišťovnictví ve světě s detailnějším zaměřením na Českou republiku. Na historický vývoj zde navazuje situace na pojistných trzích v posledních dvaceti letech. Podrobněji je zde popsáno, jak se pojišťovny vyrovnávají s množícími se přírodními katastrofami a novým typem rizika - terorismem. Práce pokračuje aktuálními trendy v pojišťovnictví a obsáhleji se věnuje dohledu v pojišťovnictví. The diploma thesis summarizes the history of the insurance industry in the world with a detailed focus on the Czech Republic. The thesis continues to discuss the situation on insurance markets in the last twenty years. It is described how insurance companies deal with natural disasters and a new type of risk - terorism. The thesis proceeds with actual trends in the insurance industry and supervision in insurance.
