Bakalářská práce se snaží o hlubší srovnávání dvou významných mezinárodních festivalů dokumentárních filmů odehrávajících se v České republice, Jednoho světa a Mezinárodního festivalu dokumentárních filmů Jihlava. Práce se zaměřuje jednak na rozdíly v tom, jak festivaly jako celoroční instituce fungují, jaké mají cíle a jak probíhá výběr filmů, tak také na propagaci, práci s médii a výsledný mediální obraz. Popisná část čerpá především z rozhovorů se současnými i bývalými organizátory festivalů (redigované přepisy jsou součástí příloh práce), dále materiálů poskytnutých festivaly a informací zveřejněných na jejich webových stránkách. Mediální obraz festivalů je zkoumán na základě srovnání mediálních ohlasů ve vybraných sdělovacích prostředcích. Jednoduchá srovnávací analýza kombinuje kvantitativní a kvalitativní přístupy a zkoumá rozsah, žánr a obsah jednotlivých sdělení. My final thesis compares two documentary film festivals taking place in the Czech Republic: The Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival and the International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival One World. The thesis examines the differences between the goal setting, the priorities of movies selection and media and Public Relations strategies of these two festivals. As a major source for the description, the interviews with the festival founders and current leaders are mainly used. Furthermore, I have studied documents provided by the festivals organizers as well as documents available from the Internet websites. The media response analysis compares the content of chosen Czech media using the simple quantitative and qualitative research methods.
