This thesis work deals with an outstanding trumpet player Jan Slabák. He is introduced here not only as an all-round interpreter, but also as a noted band master of his ensamble, Moravanka. As its leader, composer, arranger and of course a soloist Slabák created new sound of brass music. Origin of Moravanka is a millstone in the history of bands of this type.
In this work there is also devoted space to another moravian brassband Mistříňanka. Its member were, same as Mr. Jan Slabák, students of Josef Frýbort. Together with Josef Ištvánek, another important teacher of young musicians, is mentioned in the final chapter of this work.
