Práce je zaměřena na energetickou problematiku v kontextu Evropské unie. Primárním cílem je analýza postavení EU z pohledu nejdůležitějších energetických ukazatelů,spotřeby, zásob, produkce, obchodu, apod. a následné určení perspektivy vývoje energetické politiky, určení jejich cílů a hodnocení používaných nástrojů. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř hlavních částí. První část je věnována teoreticko-historickému pohledu na fenomén růstu spotřeby se zaměřením na vztah HDP a spotřeby energie. Druhá část je věnována analýze spotřeby energie ve světě a v EU v číslech, a vývoji palivo-energetické bilance. Třetí část hodnotí postavení EU z pohledu jednotlivých primárních zdrojů a hodnotí význam a úskalí jejich využití v EU. Poslední čtvrtá část definuje prioritní oblasti evropské energetické politiky a hodnotí význam jednotlivých nástrojů, kterými je realizována. This paper focuses on problems of energy sector in the European union. Primary goal is the analysis of the EU position from the perspective of the most significant indicators, consumption, reserves, production, trade, etc. and consequently defining the perspectives of energy policy developement, defining their targets and measures. The paper is divided into four main parts. The first part is dedicated to the teoretical and historical insight of the phenomenon of consumption growth, with a focus on the relationship of GDP and energy consumption. Second part is dedicated to analysis of energy consumption in the world and in the EU, in numbers and the energy-fuel balance developement. Third part evaluates EU position by various primary resources and evaluates the importance and narrow points of their use in the EU area Last, the fourth part defines priority areas of european energy policy and evaluates the importance of the measures used to achieve goals
