Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématikou světových výstav EXPO a jejich významem. Neopomíjí ani účast České republiky. Základem práce je představení těchto událostí, obecná fakta o nich a informace o organizátorech. Důležitou část zabírá historie a vývoj. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována dvěma milníkům EXPO Brusel 1958 a EXPO Aichi 2005. Impulzem k vypracování této tématiky bylo EXPO, které proběhlo v čínské Šanghaji v roce 2010 a které se stalo největší a nejdražší událostí v historii. Závěrem práce je vyhodnocení významu, kladů a záporů pořádání světových výstav. This thesis is focusing on the topic of world expositions EXPO and their meaning. Special attention is dedicated also to the participation of the Czech Republic in exposition. The basis of this work is the presentation of these events, general facts about them and information about the organizers. The important part is also history and development. Special attention is devoted to two milestones: Brussels Expo 1958 and Aichi Expo 2005. The impetus for the development of this theme was the Expo, which took place in Shanghai in 2010 and became the largest and most expensive event in history. The work is to evaluate the importance of the pros and cons of organizing the world's fair.
