This paper focuses on projects helping developing countries in Africa, in which is involved the U2 singer Bono Vox. Various forms of foreign aid to the third world countries may have some unintended consequences. The first part of this paper is devoted to developing theories and studies of impact of various factors on economic growth. This part also synthesizes the proposed solutions of the economists Easterly, Celderisi and Sachs. The second part focuses on the Millennium Development Goals and the potential barriers in implementation of them. The last section is devoted to the involvement of Bono Vox in aid to Africa. It shows Bono's attitude to the aid and the evolution of his involvement in this issue considering the consequences of his engagement. Subsequently, it evaluates the benefits and examines the consistency of his involvement in this issue.
