Bakalářská práce se zabývá postavením Rady a Evropského parlamentu v rozhodovacím procesu Evropské unie. Je zde popsán vývoj tohoto vztahu od samého počátku moderní evropské integrace až po poslední revizi zakládajících smluv. Na začátku integrace bylo propojení těchto institucí téměř nulové a zároveň Parlament neměl skoro žádné pravomoci v rozhodovacím procesu. Dlouhým vývojem, kdy od šedesátých let Parlament postupně získával čím dál tím větší pravomoci, se tyto dva orgány dostaly v rozhodovacím procesu na stejnou úroveň. První dvě kapitoly řeší historický vývoj vztahu Rady a Parlamentu a poslední kapitola zajišťuje propojení s aktuálním vývojem integrace, protože vysvětluje změny v tomto vztahu po implementaci Lisabonské smlouvy This bachelor thesis deals with the roles of the Council and the European Parliament in the decision-making process of the European Union. It includes the description of this relationship right from the beginning of the modern European integration until the last revision of the founding treaties. At first there was nearly no connection of these two institutions and the power of Parliament in the decision-making process was insignificant. Through the long process of development starting in the 60', the Parliament gained more and more competence and it led to the balance between the two institutions. The first two chapters are concerned with the historical development of the relationship between the Council and the Parliament and the last chapter provides the current point of view as it deals with the changes implemented after the Treaty of Lisbon.
