Bakalářská práce popisuje rozdíly a shody v demografickém chování obyvatel České republiky a Švédska. Nejprve se zaměřuje na systémy rodinné politiky v obou zemích. V České republice je za hlavní nástroj rodinné politiky považováno finanční zvýhodnění rodin s dětmi. Ve Švédsku je největší důraz kladen na podporu skloubení pracovního a rodinného života matek. V další části je zaznamenán vývoj různých demografických ukazatelů v posledních 20 letech. V České republice dochází ke zřetelnému stárnutí populace, zatímco ve Švédsku tento jev není tak výrazný. Za posledních 20 let v obou zemích nejprve hodnota úhrnné plodnosti poklesla, aby později opět vzrůstala. V obou zemích také ženy odkládají porody do pozdějšího věku. Po provedení standardizace je patrné, že ve Švédsku je úmrtnost výrazně nižší než v České republice. Naděje dožití se v obou zemích prodlužuje. Obě země patří na světovou špičku v ukazatelích kojenecké a novorozenecké úmrtnosti. Díky poklesu počtu sňatků v devadesátých letech Česká republika vyrovnala sňatečnost na podobnou úroveň jako Švédsko. Saldo migrace je v posledních letech poměrně proměnlivé, avšak obě země vykazují stabilně kladné hodnoty, a tedy přírůstek stěhováním. Dále je provedeno srovnání obou zemí z pohledu podílu výdajů státu na rodinnou politiku na HDP nebo podle celkové výše zdanění. Švédsko se řadí podle obou ukazatelů na přední příčky v rámci Evropy. Závěr práce je zaměřen na souvislosti mezi sociální politikou a vývojem demografických ukazatelů, zvláště porodnosti. Mezi doporučení pro Českou republiku patří rozšíření počtu mateřských škol a podpora zaměstnávání na částečné úvazky. Bachelor thesis describes differences and similarities in the demographic development between the Czech Republic and Sweden. The first part is focused on the systems of family policy in both countries. In the Czech Republic the main tool is the financial support for families with children. In Sweden the main aim is to provide mothers opportunities for both child care and their profession. In the next part it is written down the development of demographical indicators in the last 20 years. In the Czech Republic there is obvious the aging of population, while in Sweden the aging is not so strong. In the last 20 years the value of total fertility rate dropped at first, but later it rose again. In both countries women postpone childbearing into their higher ages. After standardization it's obvious that mortality in Sweden is much lower than in the Czech Republic. Life expectancy is rising in both countries. Both countries belong to the top of the world according to infant and neonatal mortality. Due to the decline in number of marriages after the year 1990 in the Czech Republic nowadays the marriage rate is at the similar level as in Sweden. Migration increase is quite variable, but both countries show permanently positive values. Both countries are compared according to the proportion of social protection expenditures on GDP or according to the total tax rate. In both indicators Sweden belongs to the countries with the highest level in Europe. At the end of the thesis the relationship between social policy and development of demographic indicators (especially birth rate) is shown. For the Czech Republic it's recommended to increase the number of nursery schools and to support part-time job.
