V první kapitole bakalářské práce "Příčiny bankrotu společnosti Enron" je popsán vývoj od samotného počátku společnosti až po konec její existence v roce 2001. Kapitola zachycuje představení osobností, úlohu, kterou v celé kauze sehrály, a jejich osudy po pádu společnosti. Dále jsou v první části práce zmíněna špatná investiční rozhodnutí a ostatní skutečnosti, které výrazně přispěly k zániku společnosti. Ve druhé části jsou stanovena metodická východiska pro finanční analýzu, zaměřující se zejména na predikci finanční tísně. V části poslední je zpracována samotná finanční analýza, čerpající z dostupných výročních zpráv z let 1998, 1999 a 2000. Výsledek, který vyplývá z této analýzy, je neuspokojivý. V analyzovaných letech se jednoznačně nedá hovořit o silné a stabilní společnosti s dobrými vyhlídkami do následujících let. Vše potvrdil rok 2001, poslední rok existence společnosti. The bachelor thesis "Causes of Enron Corporation Bankruptcy" describes the development of the company from the very establishment until the end of its existence in 2001 in the first part. The first part focuses on the introduction of the individual personalities, their role in the case and their destinies after company's bankruptcy. Description of wrong investment decisions and other facts that substantially contributed to the bankruptcy follow in the first part. In the second part, there are presented methods for financial analyses which are primarily focused on the prediction of financial distress. The financial analyses itself is conducted in the last part, drawing data from the available annual reports of 1998, 1999 and 2000. The result based on this financial analysis shows very unsatisfactory situation. This analysis does not show a picture of a strong and stable company with good future prospects. This was confirmed when the company ceased to exist in 2001.
