Rwanda a Burundi jsou dvě země, které na počátku 90. let 20. století upoutaly pozornost celého mezinárodního společenství. Genocida ve Rwandě, občanská válka v Burundi a následné přelití konfliktu do okolních států mělo za následek několik set tisíc zabitých a mnoho set tisíc uprchlíků. Práce komparuje vnitropolitický vývoj v obou zemích a jejich vliv na okolní státy v oblasti velkých afrických jezer. Rwanda and Burundi are two countries that, in the beginning of 1990s, attracted attention of the whole international community. The genocide in Rwanda, the civil war in Burundi, and the following spill-over of conflict to neighbouring countries caused hundreds upon thousands of deaths and hundreds upon thousands of refugees. This work compares the internal development of these countries and their influence on other countries in Great Lake Region.
