Abstract: The predation pressure on Northern lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) nests and the food availability for their chicks was studied in the farmlands around České Budějovice. Nest predation pressure was monitored using both Northern lapwing nests and experimental nests, to observe changes across their breeding season and between two main habitat types: arable fields and grasslands. The chick food supply was quantified using invertebrate pitfall traps to observe patterns across their breeding season and between the two main habitat types. This study was conducted for two breeding seasons of the Northern lapwing, in 2023 and 2024.
