DYNAMIKY ČESKÉHO SÍDELNÍHO SYSTÉMU Jiří-Jakub Zevl, disertační práce ABSTRAKT Cílem disertační práce je přispět do oboru sídelní geografie zaprvé zhodnocením teoretických znalostí o proměnách sídelního systému v Česku, respektive ve srovnatelném prostředí. Zadruhé je cílem přinést empirické poznatky o procesech, které se podepisují na jeho podobě, zejména pak se zaměřením na Prahu jakožto na hlavní pól systému. Práce se skládá z pěti odborných textů, které se zabývají sídelním systémem, jeho strukturami a dynamikami, a to od měřítka individuální lokality až po měřítko národního sídelního systému. Články ukazují jak historickou perspektivu sídelní struktury, tak nedávné transformační procesy a také proměnlivost systému ve vztahu k denním aktivitám obyvatelstva. Průvodní rozprava představuje jednotlivé články a jejich vzájemné souvislosti. Taktéž zasazuje články, jejich dílčí témata a koncepty do teoretického kontextu studia sídelních systémů a mobility, přičemž poukazuje na možné perspektivy dalšího studia. Aktuální diskuze je v paradoxní situaci, kdy na jedné straně dochází postupně k nárůstu komplexity současného světa a na druhé straně je trendem odborné diskuse tematická specializace. DYNAMICS OF THE CZECH SETTLEMENT SYSTEM Jiří-Jakub Zevl, doctoral thesis ABSTRACT The aim of this dissertation thesis is to contribute to the field of settlement geography by firstly evaluating the theoretical knowledge of current changes in settlement system in the Czechia, or in a comparable geographical area. Secondly, the aim is to provide empirical knowledge about the processes that shape it, with a particular focus on Prague, as the main pole of the system. This thesis comprises five scholarly papers examining settlement systems, their structures, and dynamics at scales ranging from individual localities to the national level. The articles present both historical perspectives on settlement patterns and recent transformative processes, as well as the variability of the system in relation to daily human activities. The introductory treatise introduces the papers and their interconnection. Furthermore, it situates the papers, their specific themes, and concepts within the theoretical context of settlement systems and mobility studies, pointing to potential perspectives for future research. The current scholarly debate finds itself in a paradoxical situation, characterized by increasing complexity of the contemporary world on the one hand, and growing thematic specialization within the academic discourse...
