Generativní umělá inteligence nabízí novou formu tvorby hudby, kdy uživatelé mohou zadávat pokyny a na základě textových instrukcí obdrží skladby v požadovaném stylu a instrumentaci. Tento fenomén vedl k rychlému rozšíření služeb, jako jsou Suno a Udio, které generují hudbu na základě algoritmů a vzorů. Tyto technologie však často nedokážou napodobit konkrétní hudební tradice, což vyvolává otázky ohledně jejich vlivu na hudební kulturu. Text ukazuje, jak se chápání tradic proměňuje vykreslováním velkých jazykových modelů, které využívá umělá inteligence. Ukazuje historické pokusy o strojové generování hudby v Československu v 60. letech 20. století Antonína Sychry a Zdeňka Fencla, kteří jako materiál použili lidovou hudbu. Jejich metody jsou blízké současným generativním systémům, které kombinují hudební analýzu a algoritmy. Ukazují, jak důležití byli a jsou „strážci“, kteří rozhodují o tom, jaké hudební prvky se v tradici zachovají. V současných modelech umělé inteligence jsou těmito strážci soukromé společnosti, které skrývají podrobnosti o svém tréninkovém materiálu, což zpochybňuje jejich transparentnost a etiku. Generative AI offers a new form of music creation where users can input instructions and receive songs in a desired style and instrumentation, based on text-based instructions. This phenomenon has led to the rapid proliferation of services such as Suno and Udio that generate music based on algorithms and patterns. However, these technologies often fail to emulate specific musical traditions, raising questions about their influence on musical culture. The text shows how the understanding of traditions is transformed by the rendering of large language models used by artificial intelligence. It shows the historical attempts at machine generation of music in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s by Antonín Sychra and Zdeněk Fencl, who used folk music as their material. Their methods are close to contemporary generative systems that combine music analysis and algorithms. It shows how important were and are the “gatekeepers” who decide what musical elements are preserved in the tradition. In current AI models, these gatekeepers are private companies that hide the details of their training material, calling into question their transparency and ethics.
