Abstract: The contribution describes an attempt to implement a cyber attack detection system based on the watermark strategy into the system of compensation elements for the EAF. The strategy of the power-electronics-based emulation of the EAF developed before is used here for implementation of the watermark strategy. The developed emulation strategy enables the real-time emulation of the EAF with its under-scaled control components in various modes of operation in laboratory conditions. Selected results of simulation tests using the data collected from the real 60 t EAF are presented and discussed.1 The simulation results confirm that the watermark strategy may be an effective tool to recognize cyber-attacks on the compensation strategy of the EAF.
