Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na období vlády Maxmiliána II. v Českém království, jak je zachycena v dobových zprávách benátských vyslanců. Práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních kapitol. První přináší pohled na fungování benátských diplomatů u císařského dvora v 16. století, druhá přibližuje život a osobnost Maxmiliána II. před nástupem na císařský trůn. Stěžejní je pak třetí kapitola, která podrobně rozebírá Maxmiliánovu vládu jako českého krále. Věnuje se jeho cestě ke koruně v Českém království, tažení proti Turkům, svolávání a jednání na sněmech v českých zemích, snahám o návrat jeho synů ze Španělska a jednání o České konfesi. Práce tak poskytuje detailní pohled na to, jakým způsobem reflektovali Maxmiliána II. jako českého krále benátští vyslanci. This thesis focuses on the reign of Maximilian II in the Kingdom of Bohemia as depicted in the contemporary reports of Venetian envoys. The content is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter provides an overview of the operations of Venetian diplomats at the imperial court in the 16th century. The second chapter explores the life and personality of Maximilian II before his accession to the imperial throne. The third and most crucial chapter offers a detailed analysis of Maximilian's rule as the King of Bohemia. It covers his path to the Bohemian crown, his campaign against the Turks, the convening and proceedings of the diets in the Czech lands, his efforts to bring his sons back from Spain, and the negotiations regarding the Bohemian Confession. The thesis thus provides an in-depth view of how Venetian envoys perceived Maximilian II as the King of Bohemia.
