Brno, May 2022 In our constantly developing world oil is a widely consumed commodity, that gives countries, who produce it a huge economical benefit. Azerbaijan is in the list of countries with a significant amount of oil reserves, to prove that, according to Worldometers (2016) Azerbaijan has in proven reserves 199.8 its annual consumption of oil, that gives Azerbaijan 200 year until the oil reserves expired. As it is predictable from the beginning, our research was aiming to the Republic of Azerbaijan, oil sector in this country and its role in the economy of Azerbaijan. As secondary objectives the paper determines the most dominant importer of Azerbaijani oil and assess the challenges facing the industry. The data used in the methodology has been retrieved from multiple sources including Azerbaijan National Statistics Committee, US Energy Information Administration, Trading Economics, and etc. The software for the analysis were chosen “STATA”, where the unit-root test, Johansen test for cointegration, VAR Lag structure test, ARDL model has been run. According to the results of the model, in both long-run and short-run the GDP Growth and Revenue from exported oil have significant impact on the Employment in Azerbaijan. To conclude with recommendations, I would want to advice to use a part of the revenue from the oil exported to develop non-oil sectors, small investments build strong and big shares for the future.Talibov, A. Brno, Květen 2022 V našem neustále rozvíjejícím se světě je ropa široce spotřebovanou komoditou, která dává zemím, které ji produkují, obrovský ekonomický přínos. Ázerbájdžán je v seznamu zemí s významným množstvím zásob ropy, dokazujíc, že podle Worldometers (2016) má v prokázaných rezervách roční spotřebu 199.8, která dává Ázerbájdžánu 200 let, dokud zásoby ropy vyprší. Jak bylo od začátku předvídatelné, tenhle výzkum je zaměřen na ropný sektor Ázerbájdžánské republiky a jeho roli v ekonomice Ázerbájdžánu. Jako sekundární cíle práce určuje nejvíce dominantního dovozce ázerbájdžánské ropy a hodnotí výzvy, kterým průmysl čelí. Údaje použité v metodice byly získány z několika zdrojů, včetně ázerbájdžánského Národního statistického výboru, US Energy Information Administration, Trading Economics, a atd. Pro analýzu byl vybrán software "STATA", kde byl spuštěn unit-root test, Johansenův test pro kointegraci, var lag structure test a ARDL model. Podle výsledků modelu má růst HDP a příjmy z vyvážené ropy v dlouhodobém i krátkodobém horizontu významný dopad na zaměstnanost v Ázerbájdžánu. Na závěr bych rád doporučil využití části příjmů z ropy vyvezené na rozvoj neropných odvětví, protože malé investice budují silné a velké podíly do budoucna.
