Abstract: This diploma thesis contains a comparison of business support for start-ups in the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea. In the first part, basic terminology is defined. Next follows an overview of the current possibilities of business support a start-up is having in selected countries. In the empirical part, a comparison based on acquired data and international indexes is made together with an analysis of selected start-ups. This thesis is concluded with a proposal of an optimal way of gaining financial and nonfinancial support for start-ups. A final comparison defining the country with a better level of business support is made.
