Tato práce má za cíl zkoumat a analyzovat dvě hlavní výzkumná témata. Prvním z nich je percepce lokálních environmentálních změn způsobujících škody na majetku, infrastruktuře nebo dokonce ztráty lidských životů obyvatel vybraného regionu. Konkrétně se jedná o širokou škálu dopadů extrémních projevů počasí, označované odborníky také jako hydrometeorologické nebo klimatické extrémy. Obsahem druhé části jsou způsoby přizpůsobení (adaptace) těchto obyvatel. Obě témata jsou zkoumána především na úrovni domácností, s přihlédnutím na regionální kontext. Empirická část výzkumu byla realizována v regionu povodí Bečvy, kde byl zkoumán stav adaptace společnosti na regionální a lokální úrovni. V rámci environmentálně sociologického výzkumu bylo osloveno 605 domácností z 22 obcí a 25 klíčových respondentů především ze zájmového regionu. Dalším cílem práce bylo představit stav dosavadního poznání týkající se této problematiky. This dissertation thesis deals with two key research topics. The first is perception of environmental change and its negative impacts on human property, infrastructure and even human lives. Specifically, we research the whole scale of extreme weather events, framed as hydrometeorological or climate extremes. The second part of dissertation focus on societal adaptation to these impacts. Both topics are researched on household level with regard to regional conditions. Empirical part of the research was realized within Bečva river basin in order to find out the state of adaptation on regional and household level. Within environmental sociology research, we connected with 605 household representatives from 22 municipalities and 25 key stakeholders from target area. The aim of the dissertation was to introduce actual scientific evidence about perception of environmental change, with focus on climate extremes and ways of societal adaptation.
