cze Abstract:
This bachelor thesis is focused on the mapping of groups of the semi feral horses in the Czech Republic and in the world. The horse breeds are mentioned here which breed free in Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Australia. Selected breeds of horses are described briefly including history, appearance, and area of current free horse breeding. The aim of the thesis is provide an objective view on the issue of endangered breeds of horses. Special attention is paid to the Przewalski’s horse, the last living ancestor of contemporary domestic horses. This species was threatened with extincion last century but thanks to the world’s zoos this didn’t happen. The Prague Zoo has a lot of credit for that so the world studbook of Przewalski’s horse is kept here.
