Tato diplomová práce se zabývá rolí malých a středních podniků v rozvoji venkovského regionu konkrétně na území obce s rozšířenou působností Havlíčkův Brod. Je zde provedena analýza struktury MSP ve vybraném venkovském regionu. Dále je definováno, jak se MSP zapojují do rozvoje obce. Na základě analýzy sekundárních a primárních dat jsou navržena doporučení, kam by měla být směřována podpora rozvoje venkovských oblastí ve vazbě na MSP. The thesis focuses on the role of small and medium enterprises in the development of rural region, namely in the area of the town of Havlíčkův Brod. An analysis of the structure of small and medium enterprises in the selected rural region has been carried out. In addition, the way of the small and medium enterprises engagement in development of the town is defined. On basis of an analysis of primary and se-condary data, recommendations on how the support in development of rural areas in relation to small and medium enterprises should be oriented are put forward.
