Odběr hemokultur se řadí mezi jedno z klíčových vyšetření krve a umožňuje identifikaci mikroorganismů, rozpoznání infekce a dále nasazení správné antibiotické léčby. Odběr krve na hemokultury musí být proveden přísně asepticky a je důležité při něm dodržovat všechny stanovené standardy a specifika. Krev odebraná od pacienta se musí v hemokultivačním systému v co nejkratším čase dostat na mikrobiologické oddělení, kde je dále kultivována. Při nedodržení všech daných standardů může dojít k falešným výsledkům hemokultur, nasazení nesprávné léčby a prodloužení doby léčení. Cílem této bakalářská práce bylo popsat problematiku odběru hemokultur na standardním oddělení, charakterizovat základní postupy při odběru jako důležitý způsob mikrobiologického vyšetření, ověřit správnost dodržování standardizovaných postupů u zdravotnického personálu, zjistit teoretické znalosti sester a zmapovat překážky a komplikace vyskytující se při odběru. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo celkem 9 sester pracujících na lůžkovém oddělení v nemocnici Jihočeského kraje. Technikami sběru dat byly polostrukturované rozhovory a skryté pozorování. Z výzkumného šetření vyplývá, že většina sester nedodržuje všechny dané standardy spojené s odběrem hemokultur. Sestry chybovaly v identifikaci pacienta, přípravě pomůcek, dodržování přísně aseptického postupu za použití bariérových pomůcek a v neposlední řadě nezacházely s infekčním a ostrým materiálem v souladu s BOZP. Z výsledků také vyplynulo, že sestry mají dobré teoretické znalosti, ale v praxi je nevyužívají, jak by měly. Haemocultures represent a critical diagnostic tool in modern medicine, playing a vital role in identifying pathogens, diagnosing infections, and guiding appropriate antibiotic therapy. For accurate results, the collection of blood for cultures must be performed under strict aseptic conditions, adhering to all established protocols and guidelines. Timely delivery of the collected blood samples to the microbiology laboratory is crucial, as the specimens must be processed promptly within the haemocultivation system for optimal culture growth. Following these stringent standards is essential to avoid false-negative results, prevent inappropriate treatment, and minimize the duration of illness. The objective of this bachelor's thesis was to explore the process of taking haemocultures within a standard clinical setting. This study aimed to detail the fundamental procedures involved in haemoculture collection as a crucial microbiological diagnostic method, assess the adherence of medical staff to established protocols, evaluate the theoretical knowledge of nurses, and identify challenges and complications encountered during the collection process. The research team comprised nine nurses from the inpatient ward of a hospital in the South Bohemian Region. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and covert non-participant observation. The research reveals that a significant proportion of nurses fail to adhere to all established standards for haemoculture collection. Issues identified include errors in patient identification, improper preparation of tools, deviations from strict aseptic techniques involving barrier methods, and non-compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) protocols regarding the handling of infectious and sharp materials. Although nurses demonstrated strong theoretical knowledge, this was not consistently applied in practice.
