Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá muži, kteří trpí diabetem mellitem 1. typu. Kde se zaměřuji, zda muži trpící tímto onemocněním netrpí nedostatečným přísunem jednotlivých živin a zároveň se snažím zmapovat četnost akutních komplikací. V první části teoretické práce se zabývám výskytem diabetu mellitu a jeho typy. V druhé části popisuji pojmy, které jsou vzpjaté s diabetem mellitem. Ve třetí části se podrobně zabývám diabetem mellitem 1. typu, jeho klasifikací, komplikacemi, léčbou a samozřejmě dietními opatřeními a fyzickou aktivitou. V praktické části byla použita jak kvalitativní, tak kvantitativní metoda výzkumu, kdy za pomocí dotazníků a jídelníčků od respondentů. Jsem se snažila zmapovat do jaké míry splňuje diabetická dieta nároky dospělých mužů a zmapovat četnost akutních komplikací u mužů s diabetem mellitem 1.typu v závislosti na stravování a fyzické aktivitě. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že muži trpící diabetem mellitem 1. typu nejsou ohroženi nedostatečným přísunem jednotlivých živin, příjem tuků byl u poloviny respondentů vyšší než doporučený příjem, zato příjem bílkovin byl splněn, příjem sacharidů byl nižší. Diabetická dieta nastavená dle dietního systému by byla však nedostačující. Dalším zjištěním bylo, že častěji muže trápí výskyt hyperglykémií než hypoglykémií a v obou případech se těmto akutním komplikacím snaží předcházet úpravou dávky inzulínu, což může souviset s tím, že většina respondentů uvedla, že množství sacharidů v jídle pouze odhadují. This bachelor thesis is about men who suffer from type 1 diabetes mellitus. Where I focus on whether men suffering from this disease are deficient in the supply of particular nutrients and also try to map the frequency of acute complications. In the first part of the theoretical work, I discuss the incidence of diabetes mellitus and its types. In the second part I describe the concepts that are associated with diabetes mellitus. In the third part I discuss in detail type 1 diabetes mellitus, its classification, complications, treatment and of course dietary measures and physical activity. In the practical part, both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used, using questionnaires and diet plans from the respondents. I aimed to map the extent to which the diabetic diet meets the demands of adult men and to map the frequency of acute complications in men with type 1 diabetes mellitus in relation to diet and physical activity. The research showed that men with type 1 diabetes mellitus were not at risk of inadequate intake of individual nutrients, fat intake was higher than the recommended intake in half of the respondents, while protein intake was met and carbohydrate intake was lower. However, a diabetic diet set according to the dietary system would be insufficient. Another finding was that men were more likely to suffer from hyperglycaemia than hypoglycaemia, and in both cases they tried to prevent these acute complications by adjusting their insulin dose, which may be related to the fact that most respondents said that they only estimated the amount of carbohydrate in their meals.
