Práce se zabývá pobytem seniorů v domovech pro seniory a okolnostmi, které s pobytem souvisí. Teoretická část popisuje fenomén stáří, kdo je senior a co je to stárnutí a stáří, změny, které stáří doprovází a jaké jsou potřeby ve stáří. Dále práce charakterizuje domov pro seniory včetně legislativního ukotvení a financování samotného pobytu a standardů kvality péče. Kapitola uvádí také roli sociálního pracovníka v péči o seniory, jakou péči domov seniorům nabízí, a to i těch s demencí a co obnáší práce s rodinou seniorů včetně záležitostí souvisejících s umíráním a smrtí v domově pro seniory. Poslední kapitola v teoretické části se věnuje samotným etickým aspektům pobytu v domově pro seniory. Najdeme zde etické principy domova, etický kodex, kterým se sociální pracovníci řídí při vykonávání své práce a jak souvisí dobré jednání při kvalitní práci se seniory. Na závěr teoretické části v práci najdeme možné etické problémy a dilemata při práci se seniory a vliv spirituality na jejich jednání. Praktická část práce zahrnuje čtyři kazuistiky, které ukazují na konkrétních případech, jaké problémy či dilemata mohou nastat při pobytu v domově pro seniory. The work deals with the stay of the elderly in homes for the elderly and the circumstances related to the stay. The theoretical part describes the phenomenon of old age, who is a senior and what is aging and old age, the changes that accompany old age and what are the needs of old age. Furthermore, the work characterizes the home for the elderly, including legislative anchoring, financing of the stay itself and quality standards of care. The chapter also presents the role of the social worker in the care of the elderly, what kind of care the home offers to the elderly, including those with dementia, and what is involved in working with the family of the elderly, including matters related to dying and death in the home for the elderly. The last chapter in the theoretical part is dedicated to the very ethical aspects of staying in a home for the elderly. Here we can find the ethical principles of the home, the ethical code that social workers follow when performing their work, how good behavior is related to quality work with the elderly. At the end of this theoretical part of the thesis, we will find possible ethical problems and dilemmas when working with the elderly and the influence of spirituality on their actions. The practical part of the work includes four case studies that shows in specific cases what problems or dilemmas can arise during a stay in a home for the elderly.
