cze Abstract:
Zásadními prameny se proto staly pozůstalosti jednotlivých osob, jež hrály ve Dvořákově životě menší...The present bachelor thesis is a probe into the family, social, study and working life of Max Dvořák (1874-1921), a historian and art historian who spent his entire professional life in Vienna. The thesis traces Dvořák's life journey up to the moment when he decided to devote himself fully to art history. A journey that began in the cultural environment of the Lobkowicz castle in Roudnice nad Labem, breaking off at the University of Prague in the second half of the 1890s with his departure for the University of Vienna. There he finally embarked on a career as a university lecturer and scientist. The text emphasizes his relations to his hometown and country, especially Podřipsko region, his ties of friendship, and his contacts and interactions with figures from the scientific and artistic circles of the monarchy. Particular attention will also be paid to Max Dvořák's family and his closest relatives during the time period in question, and necessarily to his ancestors at the castle in Roudnice nad Labem. The work is based on research of archival sources and on work with published sources and literature. The estate of Max Dvořák, deposited in the Institut für Kunstgeschichte in Vienna, could be used only partially for the writing of the text, as most of the material documents his later scientific...
