Tato práce obsahuje popis základního principu spalovacího motoru, součástí, které zajišťují chod motoru a také popis možných úprav pro motoristický sport. Uvedl jsem několik zajímavých řešení praktických závodních pohonů a pokusil jsem se stručně charakterizovat několik nejznámějších šampionátů automobilového motorsportu. Zaměřil jsem se na pochopení chodu spalovacího motoru, což je obecným předpokladem pro možné úpravy ať už na úrovni špičkových závodů nebo civilní úpravy sériových pohonů. This article contains description of basic principles of combustion engine, its parts, which suplies motor run and description of possible adjustments for motorsport too. I wrote down some of interesting racing engines and I try to characterize some of most famous world championship. I tried to understand combustion motor runnig, it is the base for building or modifying engines for real racing or modifies productions engines at low level.
