Dokončovací operace představují významnou část výrobních technologií. Mají totiž výrazný vliv na funkční vlastnosti součásti. Operace dokončování se dělí na operace nástroji s definovanou geometrií a na operace nástroji s nedefinovanou geometrií. Dřívější praxe je taková, že dokončovací operace byly realizovány převážně nástroji s nedefinovanou geometrií. V současné době, kdy se objevují dokonalé nástrojové materiály nabývají na velkém významu i operace dokončování nástroji s definovanou geometrií – soustružení, frézování. Přesto operace dokončování povrchů nástroji s nedefinovanou geometrií nejsou opomíjeny a je jim věnována náležitá pozornost. Směry rozvoje těchto technologických operací je možné vidět ve volbě brusiva, ve volbě brousicích kotoučů i ve vlastním procesu dokončování, především při dokončování křehkých materiálů. V práci je provedena analýza a zhodnocení dokončovacích metod a hlavní pozornost je věnována pokrokovým metodám broušení tj. broušení tvárnému. Tento přístup totiž umožňuje dokončovat povrch součásti s vysokou jakostí, eventuálně umožňuje vynechat i některé konečné úpravy povrchu např. leštění. Zatím se řeší otázky volby podmínek broušení tj. řezných podmínek, nástrojů a strojů. Dá se předpokládat, že tato metoda najde své uplatnění při dokončování křehkých materiálů jako je keramika, optické sklo, křemík nebo germanium. Finishing operations represent important part of manufacturing technologies. They have expressive influence on functional product properties. Finishing operations are classified as operations with the defined tool geometry and as operations with non defined tool geometry. In earlier time, the finishing operations were realised mostly by the tool with non defined geometry. At this time, in which appear perfect tool materials take the value between finishing operations the operations using the tools with defined geometry like turning, milling. Still the finishing operations by the tool with non defined geometry are not forgotten and it takes a proper car of them. The progress direction of these technological operations is in the choice of grinding materials, in the choice of grinding wheels and also in proper finishing process first of all when finishing the brittle materials. In the report there is performed the analysis and evaluation of finishing methods and the main attention is focused on advanced grinding methods e.i. of ductile grinding. This access facilitates to achieve the surfaces with very high accuracy or to enables to omit some of final arrangement of the surface. Since there are solved the questions of cutting tools conditions selection and machine tools. It can be assumed that this method will be applied when finishing brittle materials as ceramics, optical glasses, silicon or germanium.
