Abstract: Novel data on the morphology and size of the daughter rediae of the echinostomatid trematode, Echinostoma spiniferum, is provided and their distributions within the first intermediate snail host, Planorbarius corneus, is analysed to test some of the hypotheses of Hechinger et al. (2010) for the existence of social organisation in trematodes.
