Práce zjišťuje význam romské rodiny coby poskytovatele sociální opory svým členům. Teoretická část charakterizuje pojem sociální opora a zaměřuje se na funkční rodinu, jenž je jedním ze zdrojů sociální opory. Dále jsou uvedeny znaky, které můžeme v oblasti sociální opory nalézt právě u Romů. Na to navazuje rozdělení romských rodin. Poté je popsán rozsah, druhy a stinné stránky sociální opory, které jsou vždy vztaženy k romským rodinám. Praktická část obsahuje kazuistiky respondentů. Těch bylo dosaženo pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, které jsou děleny do šesti hlavních okruhů, podle nichž jsou i vyhodnoceny. Výsledky výzkumu jsou dále porovnány s poznatky autorů použité literatury. The work examines the importance of Roma family as a provider of social support to its members. The theoretical part describes the concept of social support and focuses on functional family, which is one of the sources of social support. Further, it gives the characteristics we can find in the field of social support typically in the Romanies. Next, there is the division of Roma families, the describtion of the extent, types and drawbacks of social support, which are always associated to Roma families. The practical part includes the respondents´ case studies. These were achieved using semi-structured interviews, divided into six main themes according to which they were also evaluated. The research results are then compared to the findings of other refered authors.
