Disertační práce se na pozadí dobových diskusí o náplni a novém směřování péče o památky zabývá problematikou rekonstrukcí a nových realizací v historických částech Prahy (Staré a Nové Městopražské, Malá Strana, Hradčany, Josefov a Vyšehrad) na konci 19. a na počátku 20. století, tak jak se odrážela ve vybraných projektech (ať již realizovaných či nerealizovaných) reprezentujících stavební aktivity té doby v metropoli. Práce si klade nejen otázky týkající se bezprostředně koncepčních a stylových řešení používaných jednotlivými architekty, ale zamýšlí se zároveň nad obecnějšími otázkami vývoje domácí památkové péče ve sledovaném období. Její těžiště spočívá v analýze vlivu aktuálních myšlenek a názorů v oblasti teorie památkové péče na stavební praxi reprezentovanou jednotlivými kauzami a identifikaci zpětného dopadu praktických zkušeností na podobu teorie oboru. Jednotlivé případové studie (diskutované projekty) jsou vybrány tak, aby pokryly jak zásadní pražské urbanistické projekty přelomu 19. a 20. století, tak i (ne)realizované proměny vybraných staveb a architektonických souborů v tomto období. Práce je primárně zaměřená na období mezi léty 1890 a 1918, tedy přibližně od doby finalizace příprav na zahájení pražské asanace do konce 1. světové války, která zásadním způsobem proměnila... Thedissertationdealswiththeissueofreconstructionsandnewrealizationsinhistoricalparts of Prague (Old and New Towns of Prague, Lesser Town, Hradčany, Josefov and Vyšehrad) at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century against the background of period discussions about the content and new direction of monument care, as reflected in selected projects (whether implemented or unrealized) representing the construction activities of the time in the metropolis. The work not only raises questions about the immediate conceptual and stylisticsolutionsused byindividualarchitects, butalsoconsidersthemore generalissues of the development of monument care in the Czech lands in the period under review. Its focus is on the analysis of the influence of current ideas and opinions in the field of theory of monument care on construction practice represented by individual cases and the identification of the retroactive impact of practical experience on the form of field theory. Individual case studies (discussed projects) are selected to cover both major Prague urban projects at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as (un) implemented transformations of selected buildings and architectural ensembles in this period.
