V experimentální práci byl toxický dopad DMSO na larvy hodnocen nejen z pohledu mortality. Velká pozornost byla věnována i charakteristickým znakům, které jsou v průběhu testů na larvách Galleria mellonella běžně pozorovány, jako stupeň melanizace, dopad na aktivitu a formování zámotku. Metody: Pro jednotlivé experimenty byly na základě hmotnosti vytvořeny tři testované skupiny, vždy po šesti jedincích, jedna skupina larev s váhou 250 ± 10 mg, druhá skupina s váhou 350 ± 15 mg a třetí skupina o váze 450 ± 15 mg. Pomocí Hamiltonovy stříkačky byl do každé larvy administrován objem 10 µl testovacího roztoku o příslušné koncentraci DMSO přímo do haemocoelu přes poslední levou panožku. Administrována byla čtyři množství DMSO: 12,751 g DMSO/kg váhy larvy; 15,714 g DMSO/kg; 18,850 g DMSO/kg; 22,0 g DMSO/kg. In the experimental work, the toxic impact of DMSO on larvae was evaluated not only from the point of view of mortality. Much attention was also paid to the characteristic features that are commonly observed during tests on Galleria mellonella larvae, such as the degree of melanization, the impact on activity and cocoon formation. Methods: For individual experiments, three test groups of six individuals each were created based on weight, one group of larvae weighing 250 ± 10 mg, the second group weighing 350 ± 15 mg and the third group weighing 450 ± 15 mg.
