Cílem mé práce je zjištění, jaké jsou aktivizační možnosti využití psů v rámci péče o seniory s demencí. Demence se v populaci vyskytuje převážně u osob vyššího věku. Teoretická část je zaměřena na problematiku stárnutí, demence a canisterapie. Je zde vymezena základní charakteristika syndromu demence, léčba a péče o demencí postižené klienty a možnosti jejich aktivizace. Dále je objasněn termín canisterapie a jsou zde uvedeny formy a metody canisterapie. Praktická část se věnuje aplikaci canisterapie v Domově pro seniory Hluboká nad Vltavou. Ke sběru dat byla využita strategie kvalitativního výzkumu, s využitím metody případové studie, metoda dotazování, metoda analýzy dokumentů a doplňující metodou je fotodokumentace. Cílem práce bylo zjistit možnosti využití psů v rámci péče o seniory s demencí se zaměřením na uplatnění canisterapie v ošetřovatelské péči u osob s demencí. Výsledky výzkumu mohou sloužit v rámci praktické realizace canisterapie u daných klientů a jako informační materiál a vzdělávací materiál pro zájemce o problematiku canisterapie. The objective of my thesis is to find out about the activating potential of the use of dogs in the care of elderly people with dementia. Dementia in the population is mainly found in elderly people. The theoretical part focuses on aging, dementia and canistherapy. It defines the basic characteristics of the dementia syndrome, treatment and care of clients affected by dementia, and the possibility of their activation. It also explains the term ``canistherapy{\crq}q, and the forms and methods of canistherapy are presented here. The practical part deals with the application of canistherapy in the Home for the Elderly at Hluboká nad Vltavou. To collect data, the strategy of qualitative research was used applying the methods of case studies, interviewing, document analysis, and a complementary technique of photographs. The objective of the thesis is to find out about the activating potential of the use of dogs in the care of elderly people with dementia. The research results can be used in the practical application of canistherapy in the given clients and as informative material and educational material for those interested in the issue of canistherapy.
