Ve druhé polovině 19. století bychom se v jihočeském Padařově mohli setkat s jednou výraznou osobností té doby. Filosof, ateista, politik, sedlák, tím vším byl Alfons Ferdinand Šťastný. Nejvíce se proslavil v rovině hospodářské jako otec českého agrarismu. Politická organisace zemědělců a agrární filosofie nicméně tvoří jen část jeho života. Šťastný však za svůj život prošel několika myšlenkovými směry. Do obecného povědomí poprvé vstoupil, hlavně díky svému ostrému postoji k náboženství. Projevoval se však i v jiných kulturních oblastech. V období svého kosmopolitismu například prosazoval mezinárodní jazyk či dokonce vznik společného evropského státu. In the second half of the 19th century, in Padařov in South Bohemian region, we could meet one prominent person of that time. Alfons Ferdinand Šťastný was a philosopher, atheist, politician and farmer. He became most famous in the agricultural field as the father of Czech agrarianism. However, the political organization of farmers and agrarian philosophy are only part of his life. Šťastný, however, went through several schools of thought during his life. He first entered the public consciousness, mainly thanks to his sharp attitude towards religion. However, he also acted in other cultural areas. In the period of his cosmopolitanism, for example, he promoted an idea of international language or even the creation of a common European state.
