Cílem této bakalářské práce je zmapovat činnost Institutu Cervantes a jeho přínos při šíření španělského jazyka a hispánské kultury. Hlavním cílem je představení institutu, jeho hlavních cílů a způsobů, které využívá k jejich dosažení. Pozornost je zde věnována hlavně jeho akademické a kulturní činnosti v centrech po celém světě. Součástí práce je i kapitola, která popisuje internetové stránky a jejich využití. Informace, které stránky poskytují slouží studentům, vyučujícím, hispanistům i široké veřejnosti se zájmem o studium španělštiny a kulturu španělsky mluvících zemí. Na závěr je uvedeno srovnání Institutu Cervantes s jemu podobnými organizacemi, které se zabývají šířením jazyka a s ním spojené kultury. This bachelory work tries to describe the Cervantes Institute´s activities. It is also devoted to characteristics of institution´s help in the spread of spanish language and Hispanic culture. It is concerned with the institute´s introduction, its main aims and the methods used for gaining these aims. One of the most important parts the author writes about are institute´s academic and cultural activities taking place in cities all around the world. Not less important part focuses on the websites and their usage. These websites provide students, teachers, hispanists and the general public with information concerning essential facts about the study of spanish and the spanish speaking countries culture. In conclusion the author compares the Cervantes Institute with organizations which are also interested in promoting the language and the culture connected with it.
