Úvod: Pacienti před transplantací plic mají často sníženou fyzickou kondici, což může ohrozit klinické výsledky samotné transplantace. Kondici může limitovat více faktorů, cílem této práce je zhodnotit, do jaké míry se na nižší fyzické zdatnosti těchto pacientů podílí síla nádechových svalů. Zároveň práce hodnotí, zda lze ke zhodnocení kondice u pacientů před transplantací plic použít kromě šestiminutového testu chůzí také test Timed Up and Go. Metodika: 14 pacientů v terminálním stádiu chronického plicního onemocnění, u nichž bylo zvažováno zařazení na čekací listinu pro transplantaci plic, absolvovalo šestiminutový test chůzí, Timed Up and Go test a měření síly nádechových svalů pomocí přístroje POWERbreathe® K5 (parametr S-Index). Byla posuzována vzájemná korelace výsledků těchto testů. Tyto korelace byly navíc zvlášť vyhodnocovány u pacientů s oslabením nádechových svalů (hodnoty S-Indexu pod 80 % normativních hodnot). Výsledky: Nebyla nalezena statisticky signifikantní korelace mezi použitými kondičními testy a sílou nádechových svalů. U pacientů s oslabením nádechových svalů však byla korelace mezi výsledky šestiminutového testu chůzí a hodnotami S-Indexu silnější. Introduction: Exercise capacity is frequently limited in lung transplantation candidates which can result in worse clinical outcomes of the transplantation itself. There can be several factors limiting exercise capacity, the purpose of this thesis is to determine the influence of inspiratory muscle strenght on reduced exercise capacity in these patients. The aim of this study is also to evaluate whether the Timed Up and Go Test is feasible for exercise capacity assessment in lung transplantation candidates as an alternative for the Six- Minute Walking Test. Methods: 14 patients with end-stage chronic lung disease considered for the lung transplantation waiting list inclusion performed Six-Minute Walking Test, Timed Up and Go Test and inspiratory muscle strenght evaluation using POWERbreathe® K5 (S-Index value). Correlations of the results of these tests were investigated. They were also evaluated separately for a group of patients with inspiratory muscle weakness (S-Index values lower than 80 % of predicted values). Results: No statistically significant correlation was found between exercise capacity tests and inspiratory muscle strenght.
