Cílem této práce bylo zkoumat vznik deprese po vypuknutí pandemie COVID-19 u evropské populace ve věku 50 let a více v kontextu sociálních nerovností. Celkem bylo analyzováno 11 648 účastníků studie SHARE (55,2 % žen, průměrný věk 69,5 let). Vznik deprese byl zkoumán na základě výskytu subjektivních pocitů smutku či deprese u respondentů po vypuknutí pandemie COVID-19 ve srovnání s výskytem těchto pocitů před vypuknutím pandemie. Za využití metody binární logistické regrese byly identifikovány významné faktory pro vznik deprese, mezi které se řadí sociodemografické charakteristiky, ukazatele související se zdravotním stavem a zdravotní péčí a sociální ukazatele. Vznik deprese se lišil také na úrovni země pobytu respondenta, což bylo zjištěno pomocí víceúrovňového modelování. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the development of depression following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in a European population aged 50 years and more in context of social inequalities. A total of 11 648 SHARE study participants were analyzed (55,2 % female, mean age 69,5 years). The development of depression was examined based on the occurrence of respondents' subjective feelings of sadness or depression after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, compared to the occurrence of these feelings before the pandemic outbreak. Significant factors influencing the development of depression, which were identified using the method of binary logistic regression, included sociodemographic characteristics, health and healthcare-related indicators, as well as social indicators.
